News : Globe Arena wins top hospitality Prize

Morecambe’s very own Globe Arena has won the top prize for its Matchday Hospitality Experience following the 7th annual Stadium Experience Official Hospitality Awards which took place at The Molineux Stadium home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday 26th May 2011.

From chef’s to waiting staff and kitchen porters to catering directors, catering teams from the Premier League to League Division 2 attended The Molineux to receive awards in 18 categories including Conference & Events Marketing, Media Choice and Directors Choice. Morecambe fought off tough competition and were delighted to receive the title of Best Matchday Hospitality Experience Award for npower League 2.

Each club taking part in the Matchday Hospitality Experience Award was independently visited by a professional catering judge from Salon Culinaire over a period of 6 months. They were all marked on criteria including service efficiency, food quality, venue standards and even presentation of match day marketing sales literature. Stadium Experience Chair Person Lisette Maas commented  “The recognition given to those nominated and winning awards at the awards evening is vital to the morale and continued dedication of the catering and events departments at our football clubs, they work tirelessly behind the scenes on matchdays and non-matchdays.”

The Globe Arena’s dedicated chef team also scooped a Bronze award for the Chef Team of the Year, beaten only by Premier League Clubs Aston Villa (Gold) and Everton (Silver).

We firmly believe we offer a fantastic service not only on match days but for any event at the Globe Arena, so to receive recognition on a National level is a superb achievement for all involved.”
